Snow Scoop

The snow scoop was first made in the early 1900's in Upper Michigan. The copper miners were tired of shoveling 300" of snow a year via the snow shovel method. The common snow shovel is very hard on a persons back and heart. It requires a lot of lifting. The first snow scoops were constructed of a sheet metal bottom and wood sides and handle. After the first snow scoops were made, it became very obvious that this is the worlds easiest way to clear snow. The way that they are designed is the thier is no lift required. You just scoop, slide, and dump the snow.
Local townspeople saw and heard of the snow scoop, so they started making thier own snow scoops in thier basements. In the 1970's a local sheet metal shop started the first commercially made snow scoops. I currently own Silver Bear snow scoops. We manufacture snow scoops and sell them across the U.S. We always hear things from our customers, such as "why weren't these invented years ago", or "these snow scoops should be in every hardware store in the U.S."
